Project Geologist

At the forefront of mining operations, we seek an experienced Project Geologist to oversee the delivery of maximum ore grade to the processing plant. This pivotal role involves designing and supervising drill programs, locating viable ore bodies, and extending the life of the mine.

  • Providing training and mentorship to junior geologists and technicians is crucial in ensuring a seamless knowledge transfer within the team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating drilling programs, analyzing data, and communicating plans with stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Supervising drill contractors, enforcing environmental, safety, and security protocols will be essential in maintaining a secure work environment.
  • Geological data analysis, interpretation, and modeling are key components in contributing to mine planning reviews.

To excel in this challenging role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology (minimum degree) as a foundation for your career advancement.
  • A minimum three years' experience in a mining environment, preferably in gold mining operations, with experience managing drill rigs will be highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency in mining and geology software packages such as Datamine, Leapfrog, and Acquire will be required for efficient data analysis.
  • Experience with geological modeling and wireframing will enable you to visualize and communicate complex data effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and manage time effectively will be vital in meeting project deadlines.
  • A current Unencumbered Western Australian 'C' Class Drivers Licence will also be necessary.
