The Kal East Gold Operation is seeking a highly skilled Project Mine Geologist to play a critical role in optimizing ore recovery in an open pit environment.

This position reports directly to the Senior geologist and requires close collaboration with various teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of geological information and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster grade control practices that maximize ore recovery in an open pit setting
  • Mentor junior mine geologists to enhance their skills and knowledge, contributing to their growth and development within the organization
  • Collaborate with the Senior geologist to provide comprehensive geological insights and recommendations that inform mine planning and operations
  • Develop and maintain accurate geological models and maps that support informed decision-making and strategic planning

About You:

Tertiary qualification in Geology or related field is essential for this role. We are looking for candidates with substantial experience as a geologist in an open pit gold mining operation, preferably with a background in grade control, QAQC sampling, and mapping practices.

A strong ability to mentor junior staff and manage small teams is crucial for success in this position. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary for building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Finally, candidates should be physically fit and able to withstand remote location conditions.
