Job Description

The Defence Estate Strategic Planner role involves a diverse range of skillsets including strategic analysis, project management, procurement, contract administration/management and associated stakeholder engagements. The nature of the work also encompasses short periods of time with high volumes of urgent tasks that are often high-profile.

The Role Involves:

  • Development of Estate Base Plans and Studies through consultants engaged through an existing panel.
  • Representation of the planning authority during development and approval stages of major Defence estate projects.
  • Prioritization of sponsor requirements and liaison with Local, State and Federal planning authorities.

About Our Team

Estate Planning Branch focuses on strategic planning to provide an affordable, safe, sustainable and strategically aligned estate to enable Defence capability. Key activities include:

  • Policy development, managing the Enterprise Estate Investment Program and base redevelopment planning.
  • Aircraft noise assessment, airfield encroachment protections and training area policy.

Requirements

We seek individuals who can work under limited or broad direction to perform complex to very complex estate planning, administrative and research work within an integrated workforce. Ideal applicants will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be resilient, exercise good judgement and demonstrate initiative. They should also have a focus on continuous improvement and ability to respond flexibly and positively to change.
