Job Title: Chief Science Strategist

Job Description:

The role of Chief Science Strategist exists within the Science Strategy and Policy directorate. As a key member of this team, you will lead the development of strategic plans to ensure Defence has the necessary capabilities to deliver scientific advice and innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, advocacy, and implementation of a DSTG Capability Plan and benchmarking.
  • Collect and analyze IS&T capability data from across DSTG capability divisions.
  • Provide advice to senior management on the application of DSTG's resources and scientific developments to meet Defence requirements.
  • Develop strategies to anticipate and resolve IS&T capability issues from a DSTG perspective.
Requirements:
  • High-level experience in leading and developing strategic plans.
  • Tertiary qualifications in STEM (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to cultivate and sustain productive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in business intelligence analysis and policy development.
