Project Leader - Defence Sector

We are seeking a seasoned professional to oversee projects within our Defence division. This is a full-time role that may be based at any of our main defence bases in South Australia.

About the Opportunity

This position involves leading and managing projects arising from estate maintenance requests, surveys, quotes, and estate works across multiple defence bases.

  • Developing, reviewing, and maintaining project quality standards to ensure high performance and compliance.
  • Preparing and presenting project status reports to senior management.
  • Conducting regular financial reviews to ensure projects are on budget and financially viable.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders, including military personnel, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ensuring workplace health and safety guidelines are implemented and monitored throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Overseeing procurement of materials and services required for project completion and identifying potential risks.

Requirements

For this challenging role, we require:

  • 5 years' experience in project leadership, preferably in the Defence sector or similar industry.
  • Experience with estate maintenance request activities, surveys, quotes, and estate works requests.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools.
  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications, such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent, would be advantageous.
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
