Job Title: Chief Science Strategist
Job Description:
The role of Chief Science Strategist exists within the Science Strategy and Policy directorate. As a key member of this team, you will lead the development of strategic plans to ensure Defence has the necessary capabilities to deliver scientific advice and innovative technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development, advocacy, and implementation of a DSTG Capability Plan and benchmarking.
Collect and analyze IS&T capability data from across DSTG capability divisions.
Provide advice to senior management on the application of DSTG's resources and scientific developments to meet Defence requirements.
Develop strategies to anticipate and resolve IS&T capability issues from a DSTG perspective.
Requirements:
High-level experience in leading and developing strategic plans.
Tertiary qualifications in STEM (or equivalent experience).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to cultivate and sustain productive relationships with stakeholders.
Experience in business intelligence analysis and policy development.

The Science Strategy and Policy directorate is responsible for developing strategy and policy to support Defence outcomes. We develop strong relationships both within Defence and across government and with industry and academia.
