
Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence Specialist

About the role
- We're seeking a compassionate specialist to provide critical support to LGBTQ+ individuals experiencing, escaping and recovering from violence and abuse.
- This role involves delivering trauma-informed care and counseling services, as well as contributing to service development and sector capacity building.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or a related field, with knowledge of sexual, domestic and family violence affecting LGBTQ+ people and communities.
A strong understanding of inclusive practices, cultural safety and client-led approaches is essential. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The team focuses on providing short-term interventions for LGBTQ+ individuals experiencing, escaping or recovering from sexual, domestic and/or family violence.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide trauma-informed care and counseling services to LGBTQ+ individuals.
- Support clients through safety planning, case management and system navigation.
- Build relationships with external services and advocate for inclusive responses for LGBTQ+ communities.
- Qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or a related field.
- Knowledge of sexual, domestic and family violence affecting LGBTQ+ people and communities.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ individuals.
