As a leading professional in domestic and family violence prevention, you will oversee the Northern Sydney Local Health District's response to this critical issue. Your role will involve strategic planning and collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure effective responses to domestic and family violence within the district.

This position requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage projects and coordinate information sharing to ensure community safety. You will work closely with relevant internal and external services to develop and implement strategies that reduce threats to adult and child victims of domestic and family violence.

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and experience in working with victims of domestic and family violence, as well as expertise in risk assessment, safety planning, and advocacy. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential for success in this role.

You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and specialist consultation to support the health workforce in identifying and responding to high-risk domestic and family violence. This includes building capacity among healthcare staff to provide evidence-based care to victims of domestic and family violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve identification and response to domestic and family violence
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective information sharing and coordination
  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist consultation to support the health workforce
  • Manage Safety Action Meeting processes to ensure community safety
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Minimum experience as a Social Worker Level 2
  • Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in working with victims of domestic and family violence
  • Expertise in risk assessment, safety planning, and advocacy
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
