About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Claims Advisor to join our dynamic team at Shannons Pty. As a Claims Advisor, you will play a critical role in managing a portfolio of claims from lodgement to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess claims for reasonable and appropriate treatment and rehabilitation needs
- Investigate claims and interpret medical documents with a focus on proactive claims management
- Ensure legislative compliance timeframes are met in conjunction with following all internal policies and procedures
- Provide an excellent level of customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
- Calculate settlement offers, negotiate settlements and attend settlement conferences with lawyers and Counsel
- Display behaviours that contribute to and drive a positive culture
Requirements
- Be customer focused - previous experience and ability to thrive within a high paced, high volume environment
- Resilient in nature
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills (including managing emotionally charged situations)
- Strong time management, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Confident to make decisions and be empowered
- A keen willingness to learn with a proactive and positive attitude
- Good computer skills and the ability to upskill to learn new computer systems and programs
- Knowledge and/or experience in the personal injury or insurance industry is desirable
