Job Summary

The Union Industrial Officer will be responsible for representing and advocating on behalf of union members, negotiating enterprise agreements, handling industrial disputes, providing industrial relations advice, preparing case materials, appearing in the Fair Work Commission, briefing barristers, and conducting workplace visits.

Main Responsibilities
  • Represent and advocate on behalf of union members in various forums
  • Negotiate enterprise agreements with employers
  • Handle industrial disputes and provide support to affected members
  • Provide expert industrial relations advice to union members and officials
  • Prepare case materials and represent members in the Fair Work Commission
  • Brief barristers to assist with complex cases
  • Conduct workplace visits to monitor compliance with agreements and regulations
Requirements
  • Australian resident or citizen
  • Driver licence
  • Law degree (or part-completed)

The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of industrial law and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes for union members.
