About The Role

Western Health is seeking passionate midwives to join the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) team at Joan Kirner Women's & Children's (JKWC).

We offer a range of birthing options including hospital birth, waterbirth and homebirth. Our MGP model prioritizes care for those who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, may be young, planning a vaginal birth after caesarean, motivated for a physiological birth, living with a disability, seeking refuge, have a history of trauma or perinatal loss or experiencing social or mental health concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a balanced caseload that allows you a full scope of midwifery or to specialise in your practice.
  • Possess excellent evidence-based clinical skills.
  • Effective time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements

Completion of Bachelor of Midwifery qualification or equivalent

Current registration as Registered Midwife with AHPRA

Full drivers' licence

Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and the issues affecting the health outcomes of First Nations women and families
