About the role:
Western Health is seeking passionate midwives to join the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) team at Joan Kirner Women's & Children's (JKWC).
Our current vacancies include both part-time and full-time opportunities.
MGP is a well-established model of maternity care that provides continuity of care from a 'known' midwife, in an on-call capacity, during pregnancy, labour and birth, and during the early parenting period to birthing women/people and their families.
We offer a range of birthing options including hospital birth, waterbirth and homebirth.
We prioritise care for those who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, may be young, planning a vaginal birth after caesarean, motivated for a physiological birth, living with a disability, seeking refuge, have a history of trauma or perinatal loss or experiencing social or mental health concerns.
Your unique skills are important to us.
You will have the autonomy to create a balanced caseload that allows you a full scope of midwifery or to specialise in your practice.
About you:

Completion of Bachelor of Midwifery qualification or equivalent
Current registration as Registered Midwife with AHPRA
Full drivers' licence
Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and the issues affecting the health outcomes of First Nations women and families
Possess excellent evidence-based clinical skills
Effective time management, communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to ongoing professional development
