As a key member of Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will be responsible for performing cycle audits, coordinating security escorts for third-party vendors, and documenting inbound and outbound deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on inventory management principles, warranty process management, and data bearing device destruction.
About the Role
Microsoft's CO+I team is the engine that powers our cloud services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. As a Data Center Inventory Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for our online services.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned tasks and escalate issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to initiate warranty claims and process failed vendor hardware devices.
- Leverage process knowledge and best judgment to complete tasks with minimal direct supervision.
- Maintain accurate logical information within various inventory management systems.
- Ensure detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.
- Reconcile and report inventory discrepancies.
- Perform data bearing device destruction following SLAs and Microsoft policies.
- Notify management about ordering stock shortages and escalate issues.
- Comply with security and data management policies.
