Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Acquisition Specialist to join our team at Microsoft. This is a high-energy role that requires excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills. The successful candidate will need to be able to influence others and work cross-functionally to achieve broad goals.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing projects, with experience in network sourcing (terrestrial, subsea, satellite etc.) in telcos / cloud / AI service providers. They will also have experience managing stakeholders, with the ability to demonstrate a measurable impact in this role.

Responsibilities
- Manage stakeholders charged with designing critical network infrastructure that enable the world's largest Cloud & AI services.
- Network acquisition industry experiences supporting procurement projects.
- Lead and manage Cloud project initiatives for platform enablement and delivery capabilities that exceed customer expectations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and define strategic initiatives to meet expansion and cost reduction needs.
- Build strategic relationships with vendors and industry experts.
- Communicate progress internally and collaborate with network deployment teams.
Requirements
- BS or BA degree (In lieu of degree, 5 years relevant work experience)
- Industry experience with regard to Network sourcing/acquisition and contracting - including Colocation sourcing, Metro and Long Haul Dark Fiber acquisition and lit wavelengths; including understanding of permitting and ROW
- 3+ years of experience in networking and/or data center technologies
- Solid understanding of Geospatial data and related analysis technologies
- Network construction experience in the ANZ market
- 3+ years of Program Management or equivalent Engineering experience leading, defining and delivering projects or services
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Network, Data Center/Colo sourcing/acquisition and contracting.
- Solid working understanding of domestic and global carrier networks
- Depth of experience presenting/communicating to executives and c-suite leadership
- Great problem solving, strategic thinking and technical skills.
- Business Acumen demonstrated through prior work or education.
- Self-driven and ability to work with minimal direction
- Technical experience with databases, data integration and data access technologies
- Experience with a data driven/metrics-driven mindset and the ability to experiment, learn and improve.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a highly competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a generous time off policy.
