We are seeking an experienced Rural General Practitioner to join our team as a GP VMO in Scottsdale, Tasmania.
Location and Environment
Located just an hour's drive from Launceston, Scottsdale is a charming Tasmanian farming town set amidst rolling green hills and fertile pasture land. The area boasts a variety of shops, services, and esteemed schools, making it an ideal location for those who value a rural lifestyle.
The Role
As a GP VMO, you will have the opportunity to build a successful practice while working in a well-equipped, purpose-built facility with five consulting rooms, a three-bay treatment room, and on-site pathology. You will also have access to a range of benefits, including accommodation and car provided for VMOs, daily VMO rate, relocation assistance, and start-up incentive.

- RA3 Location: As a RA3 location, you will benefit from a 30% reduction in your moratorium, reducing the time it takes to achieve loan approval.
- Comprehensive Clinical Protocols: We provide comprehensive clinical protocols and internal supply networks for all necessary PPE and other equipment, ensuring you have everything you need to deliver high-quality care.
- Clinical Support: Our medical educator provides supervision for RVTS, RGTS, AGPT, ACRRM IP, and RACGP FSP students, making it an ideal location for those looking to mentor or teach.
- Professional Development: We offer GRIP payments as a MMM5 location, providing up to $23,000 in your 5th year.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
General Registration or above with AHPRAA ALS2 certificate and recent emergency experience (in the last 18 months) for VMO workAbout Us
Ochre Health Medical Centre Scottsdale has a formal contract with the Tasmanian Health Service to provide VMO services 365 days per year across ATS CAT 1-5. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional general practice with great practice management and nursing support.
