Disability Support Worker Job Opportunity

The successful applicant will contribute to the effective day-to-day running of support services aimed at maximising the living, employment, social and recreational skills of people with a disability and ensuring a quality service.

Community inclusion, independence, decision making, and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs.

Support participants with low, moderate, and high support needs with a physical and or mental health diagnosis & across all identified disabilities, from all backgrounds, in single and multiple programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting clients with complex mental health and clinical needs in the areas of personal care, medication administration, mealtime management, domestic duties, mobility assistance, and community participation.
  • Certification in Disability is essential, alongside at least 1-year experience in the industry, experience with challenging behaviours, and genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, including effectively communicating with participants and team members from diverse backgrounds and groups.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, adhering to privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Current clearances include Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, National Police Check, First Aid and CPR certification, and 100 points of ID.
