Job Summary

This role is a pivotal position within our organization, responsible for overseeing the financial performance of a specific division. The Commercial Finance Director will lead a team of finance professionals to deliver financial targets and drive operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be an experienced finance leader with a strong track record of managing dispersed teams and meeting reporting deadlines. They will possess excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to engage effectively with external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the divisional finance team to achieve financial targets and improve operational efficiency
  • Providing financial guidance and support to business heads to ensure financial literacy and operating efficiency
  • Consolidating monthly results and forecasts, collaborating with senior leadership on strategy
  • Leading the budget process and reviewing financial performance regularly
  • Negotiating with external partners on fees and contracts
  • Reviewing and signing off payroll, working with senior team members on financial aspects of business development proposals
  • Preparing capital investment proposals for board review, reviewing timelines and P&L expectations
  • Working with the commercial director to ensure key financial deadlines are met and results are accurately reported
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent experience
  • At least five years' experience in a similar multi-site position
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Experience engaging with external stakeholders
  • Ability to work with non-financial managers to drive performance improvements
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel
