Assistant Director

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Director to join our Outreach, Media and Communications team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing stakeholder relationships, developing public engagement strategies, and project managing participation in public events and activities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • - Manage stakeholder relationships across arts, education, and science sectors
  • - Develop and implement public engagement strategies that align with organisational priorities
  • - Plan, monitor, and report on outcomes of public engagement initiatives
  • - Project manage participation in public events and activities
  • - Manage the Australian Antarctic Arts Fellowship programme

Requirements:

  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • - Proven experience in developing and managing partnerships in the science, arts, and education sectors
  • - Ability to translate information and creative ideas into defined outputs that meet organisational objectives
  • - Strong project management skills with ability to meet deadlines and deliver results
  • - Ability to build trust and confidence with decision makers through demonstrated accountability, awareness of risk, information sharing, and stakeholder engagement
  • - Ability to operate effectively in a government environment, including compliance with policies and procedures
