The City of Hobart is seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Specialist to support meaningful engagement between the city and its communities. The successful candidate will help deliver consistent, high-quality engagement across diverse projects, ensuring community voices are heard and valued.
This role plays a key part in building bridges between people, programs, and purpose. As our Community Engagement Specialist, you'll be the driving force behind meaningful relationships that empower communities and amplify impact.
About the Role- Represent the City at events and engagement activities
- Advise project teams on planning and delivering effective engagement
- Promote inclusive participation through diverse engagement methods
- Collaborate with Communications to raise awareness of engagement initiatives
- Develop clear, engaging content for plans, reports and online platforms
- Analyse engagement data and produce reports for the Council
- Support the Senior Advisor in advancing best practice engagement
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and professional individual with a solid foundation in community engagement and stakeholder relations. Your experience reflects a commitment to fostering inclusive participation and delivering impactful engagement outcomes.
Your Qualifications- A diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, or Social Sciences, supported by relevant experience in community engagement
- Proven ability to plan and deliver contemporary engagement methodologies across diverse projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing detailed reports and engaging a wide range of stakeholders
- A sound understanding of cultural diversity and inclusion principles, with a commitment to equitable and respectful engagement
- A current driver's licence
