About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Youth Worker to join our Child and Family Services team at Lifestyle Solutions. As a valued member of our care team, you will play a crucial role in assisting children and young people to fulfill their potential and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care and support to children and young people, including personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational and educational support needs.
  • Contribute to and maintain a safe, clean, and personalized care environment for all children and young people.
  • Document accurately events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care on the child or young person's journey with us.
  • Ensure children and young people's NDIS plans are accessible for them while in our care.
  • Utilize trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision for children and young people.
  • Provide positive behavior support, therapeutic interventions, and safety to children and young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis.
  • Encourage and facilitate opportunities for social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of the children and young people.
  • Support young people in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training, and independent living skills.
  • Promote and support positive relationships and connections for children and young people with family, culture, and community.
  • Help children and young people reach developmental and life milestones towards a healthy, happy, and thriving life.
About You

We are looking for care team members who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. Experienced in offering support to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence.

You will understand the importance of trauma-informed care, consistency, and stability in the lives of children and young people. Adapting responses and utilizing a broad range of support strategies. Be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting with a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people.
