The Westpac Group is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Strategy and Governance Expert to join their Information Security team. This role will play a significant part in the future of our business, which has been around for over 200 years.

Job Description

$150,000 - $180,000 per annum

This is a key position that requires excellent verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder management experience, and self-driven individual with a keen interest in improving Cyber-Security outcomes.

Your key responsibilities may include:

  • Assist in synthesising data related to emerging threats, vendor capabilities, regulator expectations, and Westpac current IAM state for various audiences.
  • Contribute to the overall Cybersecurity strategy, focusing on Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Advise the broader Westpac organisation (e.g., Security Architecture, Assurance, and Risk) as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Five or more years of experience in Information Security or Information Technology (IAM or other cyber security domains are preferable).
  • Understanding of financial services industry or other large enterprises is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to regulatory and industry standards such as SOX, CPS234, NIST, etc.
  • Experience in large transformation projects is desirable (business case development, project status reporting, process development, etc.).
  • Experience in data analytics, framework development, risk management, or OCM/communications is essential.
  • Formal education or certification in information security, information technology, risk management, audit, or equivalent discipline is required.
  • Industry certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, SABSA) are desirable.
