About the Role

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Logistics will be responsible for the strategic sourcing of approx. $100mil spend in Logistics/3PL and co-packing for ANZ. This role requires ownership and development of key stakeholder relationships with Regional Logistics leaders, ANZ business, and Supply Chain Leadership.

The successful candidate will translate business requirements into procurement strategy and best total value. Additionally, they will ensure compliance with procurement standards, methods, and procurement operation of the total spend area.

This role also involves developing the local supply market for the category with regional and Global alignment.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and supporting ANZ category management strategy, alignment with regional/global strategy plans
  • Total ownership to the country category management strategy, development, and execution for DCs, transport, in-land and sea freight, and related activities
  • Providing local and regional market insights on supply-base, market/emerging trends, and intelligence to drive incremental value opportunities
  • Developing ANZ Logistics category sourcing strategy to align and balance country requirements with regional and global strategy
  • Working as part of the broader procurement network between local, regional, and global to develop and roll-out procurement initiatives, including sharing and reapplying best practice
  • Supporting the Annual Procurement Planning Process
  • Leading or supporting strategy execution via RFP or supplier negotiation in country and region as required
  • Responsible for operational issues escalation and approval of purchase requisitions (PR)
  • Conducting sourcing activities such as RFPs, negotiations, to completion of award
  • Leading supplier consolidation to streamline vendor base in line with logistics strategy
  • Own contract process including review, approval, and proper sign off
  • Sourcing for alternatives to support innovation, cost initiatives, as well as risk mitigation
  • Implementing and delivering Procurement targets for the assigned category (e.g., cost savings, cost avoidance, working capital, and TCO)
  • Balancing Cost and Quality factors in all supplier engagement and leveraging regional and global category expertise
  • Establishing solid KPIs to track supplier performance in conjunction with stakeholders
  • Leading supplier selection process with best-in-class tools and framework
  • A Adopting KC Approved Master Agreement for all supplier engagements
  • Implementation of global and local procurement principles and standardized procurement processes and systems
  • Developing supplier evaluation and audit framework in collaboration with regional and global category teams
  • Leading supplier development activities, setting up cross-functional reviews to improve performance and drive value creation
  • Proactively identifying supply continuity risks and developing mitigation plans
  • Leading Supplier Evaluation for key suppliers
  • Identifying external forums and resources for logistics teams to increase market knowledge
  • Continuously evaluating the supply market to ensure the latest information is available

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Logistics procurement experience in FMCG industry and/or 3PL environment
  • Advanced negotiation and sourcing strategy development skills
  • Good project management and communication skills in English
  • Good understanding of financial metrics (i.e., Working Capital, Cost Avoidance, NSV, DPO, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PPT, WORD)

Estimated Salary Range

$120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
