**The Role**
The Curator, Collections Management., will work collaboratively within a small team, providing curatorial and collections management support to collection development, acquisition management and integrity to administrative requirements within the Senior Air Force Heritage Collections Manager, History and Heritage - Air Force.

**About our Team**
We are seeking a dynamic and professional Curator to support the Senior Air Force Heritage Collections Manager (SAFHCM), Collections Department, History and Heritage - Air Force(HH-AF). The SAFHCM operates to the HH-AF mission to collect, study, preserve and manage records and artefacts from the Australian Flying Corps through to today’s Air Force, to enhance capability and reputation, while meeting stakeholder expectations.

Managing the Air Force Heritage Collection (the Collection), the SAFHCM provides specialist curatorial and collections guidance for the management of the Collection held across the HH-AF national network. Engaging with other Government agencies, HH-AF Directorates, external organisations and individuals, including serving and ex-serving personnel and their families, the SAFHCM contributes to the management of the Air Force History and Heritage Program in support of Air Force.

As part of a small team and under general direction, the Curator will undertake and contribute to moderately complex collections management related duties within set timeframes, working towards HH-AF goals, within Directorate policies and guidelines.
- Have sound communication skills, with the ability to source, analyse and manage information for a range of stakeholders.
- Have comprehensive organisation skills, including self-management, with experience in effective prioritisation and proven production of timely and accountable outcomes.
- Demonstrate competency in a range of information and communication technology (ICT) or the capability to contribute to relevant collection management systems or digital asset management databases.
- Have the functional expertise in museum or archival practice and the ability to undertake quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy and relevancy of data.
- Have well developed oral and written skills, including the demonstrated ability to assist or share information to the benefit of peers and team members, including supervisory experience.
- Be capable, with assistance, to plan, draft reports and monitor projects relevant to the SAFHCM.
- Be capable of managing diverse demands and activities, some of a repetitive nature, independently and collegiately as well as being able to contribute to planning, development and risk management in the collections realm.
- Demonstrate capability to identify, advise and implement efficiencies and possible improved processes with an eye for detail.
- The ability to acquire the knowledge of Australian Flying Corps and Royal Australian Air Force military and social history.
- Hold a current Australian driver’s license, with the understanding that operating outside normal working hours may be required.
- Be capable to work on site and within the range of HH-AF facilities.
