Project Cost Manager Job Description

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Cost Manager to lead and manage project cost reporting for one of our projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with the operation team for effective cost management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain project budgets in coordination with project managers and finance teams.
  • Monitor budget variances and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Track and analyse project costs, including expenditures, budgets, and forecasts, to ensure alignment with project objectives and financial targets.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
  • Review contracts and agreements to ensure adherence to financial terms and conditions.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to project cost management.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to provide regular updates on project financial performance.
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience in cost control or financial management, preferably within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting software, and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • A strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting techniques, and cost management practices.
  • The ability to analyse complex financial data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to support decision-making.
