RSL Queensland is committed to delivering innovative programs and initiatives that support veterans and their families, working in partnership with local agencies, health practitioners, government departments, and other ex-service organisations.
The Wellbeing Practitioner plays a crucial role in building therapeutic relationships with veterans and their families. This involves partnering them with relevant services to ensure they receive the support they need to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
The role involves working closely with veterans and their families within our homelessness and financial hardship programs. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing client needs and developing case management plans that support an outcomes-based approach to veteran wellbeing.
- Providing emotional support and counseling to veterans in their homes or hospitals as required.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will bring:
- A degree qualification in Humanities/Arts (Social Welfare) or Health Sciences or Social Science, with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a relevant position.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Strength-based Case Management.
- An aptitude for and interest in completing your ATDP or MILADW001 in Welfare.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing client workloads across sensitive environments and situations.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport and trust with clients.
