Job Overview

The Mechanical Engineer I plays a pivotal role in creating and ensuring the quality of mechanical procedures for various power generation projects. This position reports to a supervisor and is responsible for coordinating, creating, and reviewing construction and commissioning procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review mechanical designs, including diagrams and drawings.
  • Familiarity with gas and steam turbine construction, including skids, modules, piping, valves, and structures.
  • Knowledge of main plant components, including lubrication systems, fuel gas systems, air cooling systems, and other equipment.
  • Evaluate mechanical system designs for compliance with installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Coordinate support to engineers, including clarification of procedures for supplied equipment.
  • Interpret and apply codes and standards to prepare mechanical erection and commissioning procedures.
  • Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and deliver complete sets of mechanical procedures.
  • Plan and create standard operating procedures, work instructions, and manage an internal tracking system.
  • Elaborate technical reports, presentations, and documentation for all projects and initiatives.
  • Support and provide procedure clarification on construction sites.
  • Ensure projects conform to federal, state, local, and industry engineering standards and specifications.
