Job Overview

The role of a Mechanical Engineer plays a crucial part in creating and ensuring the quality of mechanical procedures for various projects. This position reports to a Manager and is responsible for coordinating, creating, and reviewing mechanical procedures, ensuring quality documentation is submitted.

Responsibilities
  • Review mechanical engineering designs, including P&I diagrams, general arrangements, isometrics, foundation drawings, structural drawings, design philosophies, etc.
  • The ideal candidate should be familiar with gas and steam turbine construction, such as skids, modules, piping, valves, structures, etc.
  • Knowledge of main power plant auxiliary components, including lubrication systems, fuel gas systems, air cooling systems, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure mechanical system designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Effectively coordinate support to engineers, including clarification of procedures for equipment supplied by corporate.
  • Correctly interpret and apply codes and standards and customer design requirements to prepare mechanical erection and commissioning procedures, specifications, material requests, and system descriptions related to supplied equipment.
  • Conduct extensive document and design verification to deliver a complete set of mechanical procedures deliverables. Manage time efficiently to meet submission deadlines.
  • Participate in a work environment of openness, trust, communication, teamwork, innovation, and satisfaction. Plan and create Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and manage the internal CAPA system for team processes.
  • Elaborate technical reports, presentations, and detailed research documentation for all projects and initiatives related to the Mechanical discipline.
  • Support and provide procedures clarification on construction sites to ensure projects are constructed according to specific designs and local standards.
  • Ensure projects conform to federal, state, local, and company engineering standards and specifications.
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for the benefit of third parties. Always maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.
Qualifications
