Job Overview

The role of the Mechanical Engineer I is crucial in creating and ensuring the quality of procedures for Power Generation, Combined Cycle Gas Turbine, and Combined Heat and Power Projects. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager and is responsible for coordinating, creating, and reviewing Construction and Commissioning procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review mechanical engineering designs, including P&I diagrams, general arrangements, isometrics, foundation drawings, structural drawings, design philosophies, etc.
  • The ideal candidate should be familiar with gas and steam turbine construction, such as skids, modules, piping, valves, structures, etc. This knowledge is beneficial for the successful execution of the role.
  • Knowledge of main power plant auxiliary components, including Lubrication system, Fuel Gas system, Air cooling systems, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure mechanical system designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Effectively coordinate support to field engineers, including clarification of procedures for equipment supplied by corporate.
  • Correctly interpret and apply codes and standards and customer design requirements to prepare mechanical erection and commissioning procedures, specifications, material requests, and system descriptions related to supplied equipment.
  • Conduct extensive document and design verification to deliver a complete set of mechanical procedures deliverables. Manage time efficiently to meet submission dates.
  • Participate in a work environment of openness, trust, communication, teamwork, innovation, and satisfaction. Plan and create Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and manage the internal Corrective Action, Preventive Action system for team processes.
  • Elaborate technical reports, presentations, and detailed research documentation for all projects and initiatives related to Mechanical discipline.
  • Support and provide procedures clarification on construction sites to ensure projects are constructed according to specific designs and local standards.
  • Ensure projects conform to federal, state, local, and company engineering standards and specifications.
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for the benefit of third parties. Always maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity.
