Restaurant Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day restaurant operations in Melbourne.

This key role plays a vital part in ensuring the success of our venue by providing exceptional customer experiences and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety.

The ideal candidate will have proven work experience in a high volume setting as a Supervisor or Manager of a restaurant, with great customer service skills and the ability to lead and mentor a team.

About the Role
  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Support the senior leadership team in strategic planning and decision making.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to drive operational efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with the kitchen regarding menus, events, daily run-sheets, and service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, and manage a team of front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, and hosts/hostesses.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, handle customer complaints, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Financial Management: Assist with financial management tasks, such as cash handling and reporting.
  • Presentation and Safety: Ensure the restaurant is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, presentation, and safety.
Requirements
  • Proven work experience in a high volume setting as a Supervisor or Manager of a restaurant.
  • Great customer service skills and the ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional results.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and other restaurant technology.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively, with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
