About the Role

The Monash Health CAMHS and Schools Early Action (CASEA) Program is a collaborative initiative between Early in Life Mental Health Service (ELMHS), the Department of Health, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD), and Catholic Education Office of Melbourne (CEOM). This program aims to provide early intervention services to children identified as being at risk of developing serious behavior problems, including Conduct Disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide group interventions to children and parents in collaboration with education staff.
  • Assess and identify children and parents for suitability for group interventions.
  • Offer therapeutic support to the 'system' around the young person in a collaborative and reflective partnership with other involved agencies.
  • Engage in primary and secondary consultation with education staff.
  • Deliver education and training to education staff.
  • Facilitate and coordinate referrals to relevant mental health service providers.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the CASEA multidisciplinary team.
About You

We are seeking a qualified and experienced mental health professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child and family therapy, with experience working with children and families in a school setting.

The successful candidate will be employed by Monash Health Early in Life Mental Health Service and will be required to work collaboratively with education staff and other agencies to provide early intervention services to children and families.

Requirements
  • Qualifications in a relevant field, such as occupational therapy, social work, speech pathology, or psychology.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Experience working with children and families in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
