The Early in Life Mental Health Service (ELMHS) offers a comprehensive range of mental health services for pregnant women, infants, children, adolescents, and their families in the Southern Region. Our organizational and clinical framework is designed to provide adaptable and responsive mental health care tailored to the unique developmental needs of our younger populations and their families.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated Mental Health Clinician / Care Coordinator for a full-time ongoing position at Monash Children's Hospital. This role focuses on delivering mental health interventions to adolescents aged 12 to 18 who are experiencing acute and severe mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate care for patients within the Stepping Stones Unit and Transition program.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions as part of the unit's therapeutic program.
- Lead discipline-specific professional development sessions as needed.
- Provide targeted therapeutic interventions for adolescents and their families, working in individual, group, and family settings.
- Contribute to clinical innovation, planning, and educational initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans with specific goals, evidence-based strategies, timelines, and team responsibilities.
Qualifications
This position is open to qualified professionals classified as follows: Occupational Therapist Grade: YB20 – 23, Social Worker Grade 2: YC42 - 45, Speech Pathologist: YB. We encourage applications from Occupational Therapists.
