Job Title: Roadside Patrol Mechanic

RAC WA is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic automotive mechanic to join our dynamic team in Southern Perth. As a Roadside Patrol Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing on-the-spot mechanical repairs and assistance to RAC members who have broken down on the side of the road.

Main Duties:
  • Respond to roadside assistance events and provide technical expertise to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle breakdowns and mechanical issues.
  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments, including battery replacements, tyre changes, and jump-starts.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and ensure members' safety and satisfaction during stressful situations.
  • Coordinate and liaise with additional resources when required, such as towing services or other specialized assistance.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of services provided, adhering to RAC's procedures and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Experience as an automotive mechanic, with a strong background in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle makes and models.
  • Relevant trade qualification in automotive mechanics or similar field.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with members and colleagues.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • A customer-centric mindset and a passion for assisting others during challenging situations.
