Mutual Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Payroll/Corporate Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering key payroll functions while supporting our financial reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll monthly in compliance with internal procedures and legislative requirements.
- Manage payroll-related reporting, including leave reconciliation, payroll tax and year-end reporting.
- Support financial reporting, including staff budget preparation, payroll-related invoicing and audit queries.
- Key point of contact for our Tech team, for the end-to-end management of the Dayforce payroll system implementation.
- Assist with payroll compliance across multiple states, covering WorkCover and payroll tax obligations.
- Respond to payroll queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or commerce.
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience, with payroll processing experience essential.
- Experience with payroll system implementations, ideally Dayforce or Preceda.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Xero or other cloud-based accounting systems.
- IT proficiency, particularly in Excel for managing payroll data.
- Supportive flexible work arrangements.
