Mutual Trust is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Payroll Specialist to join our team. As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing and delivering key payroll functions while supporting our financial reporting processes.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Finance and People & Culture teams to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance with legislation, and continuous improvement of payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll monthly in compliance with internal procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Manage payroll-related reporting, including leave reconciliation, payroll tax, and year-end reporting.
  • Support financial reporting, including staff budget preparation, payroll-related invoicing, and audit queries.
  • Key point of contact for our Tech team, for the end-to-end management of the Dayforce payroll system implementation.
  • Assist with payroll compliance across multiple states, covering WorkCover and payroll tax obligations.
  • Respond to payroll queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or commerce.
  • Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience, with payroll processing experience essential.
  • Experience with payroll system implementations, ideally Dayforce or Preceda.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Xero or other cloud-based accounting systems.
  • IT proficiency, particularly in Excel for managing payroll data.
