Job Summary

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director to join our Parliamentary and Ministerial Branch. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic advice and guidance on parliamentary and ministerial processes, leading a small team, and managing complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, objective, and strategic advice and guidance on matters relating to parliamentary and ministerial processes.
  • Lead a small team of 1-3 people, including managing day-to-day tasks and providing coaching and mentoring to support their capability development.
  • Manage ministerial correspondence and submissions, senate estimates and question time briefs, and other briefing material to support the NDIA executive and Minister.
  • Manage the Senate Estimates and parliamentary committee coordination process, including hearing preparations and post-hearing activities.
  • Manage and coordinate regular updates on the status of parliamentary inquiry action plans and government responses.
  • Manage complex projects, training, and communications initiatives in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the agency and in the Minister's office.
