EL1 Assistant Director

We are seeking an experienced EL1 Assistant Director to join our Information Access team within the Complaints Management and Freedom of Information (FOI) Branch.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team in complex environments and provide assistance and decision-making on diverse issues in line with the Freedom of Information Act.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
- Balancing stakeholder relationships, resources and staff, delivering results on time and within budget.
- Producing quality written correspondence for a range of audiences such as Board papers, media releases, reports for Parliamentary committees, and correspondence.
- Delivering training that supports FOI handling and awareness.
- A strong leader and people manager with demonstrated communication and engagement skills.
- Collaboration will be key to achieving team objectives.
- Resilient, adaptable and well-organised to meet deadlines effectively.
- Experience with the FOI Act (or State/Territory equivalent) will be highly regarded.
- Applicants with experience in any other access to information processes, such as through administrative schemes, Privacy processes etc. will also be highly suited.
