The Executive Level 2 will be a key member of the Office of Chief Health Economist at ClearCompany. They will support the Chief Health Economist and broader Office to provide evidence-based strategic policy advice; help build health economics and health policy capability within the department; and engage with stakeholders across the APS, other state and territory government agencies, health and aged care providers, academia, industry, and community groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and support EL1 and APS level staff, maintaining a positive team culture and ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Policy Development: Translate health economic principles and analysis to design policy, implement programs, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Evidence Review: Review and synthesize economic and health policy evidence to inform strategic policy advice.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze or supervise analysis of data (including integrated data) to address key economic and health policy questions.
  • Capability Building: Help build economic literacy and capability in the department to improve policy and program thinking and development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with influence and represent the office in multiple fora, including engagement with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reporting and Writing: Prepare high-quality written material, including briefs, ministerial submissions, reports, policy papers, and papers targeted at the academic literature.
  • Leadership and Accountability: Demonstrate leadership within the team, contributing to team performance, productivity, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Project Delivery: Deliver or lead staff to deliver administrative functions for ongoing projects.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Assist with ad hoc work within the Office.
