Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our Second Line Operational Risk team at Auto & General. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our business and contributing to a risk culture of high performance with high integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Key Risk Advisory Activities: Support the Senior Manager Operational Risk by delivering key risk advisory activities, reporting, and assurance support across various business units.
- Facilitate Operational Risk Reporting: Develop and deliver risk advisory activities to support Senior Managers and Advisers, and facilitate the content for operational risk reporting for the General Manager and the Chief Risk Officer's Report.
- Monitor and Report Key Risk Indicators: Support the monitoring and reporting of key risk indicators and metrics, and provide education and training on risk management across the Group.
- Identify Emerging Risks: Report on emerging risks through internal forums and external changes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives for effective risk reviews.
- Promote a Positive Risk Culture: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in operational risk, enterprise risk, and financial/non-financial risk frameworks, and promote a positive risk culture and support business owners on risk performance.
- Experience in Operational Risk: At least 2 years of experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, or GRC, or with a background in audit, accountancy, risk, or actuarial fields.
- Strong Engagement Skills: Strong engagement skills and ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs and senior leaders across the Group.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Proven Ability to Build Relationships: Proven ability to build effective relationships with senior managers and stakeholders.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the general insurance industry is highly regarded.
- Risk Management Systems: Familiarity with risk management systems (Ideally Archer).
