We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our Second Line Operational Risk team at Auto & General. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Manager Operational Risk by delivering key risk advisory activities, reporting, and assurance support across various business units.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Deliver Risk Advisory Activities: Collaborate with Senior Managers and Advisers to develop and deliver risk advisory activities that support the business in managing risk, including operational risk, resilience, and third-party risk.
- Facilitate Operational Risk Reporting: Facilitate the content for operational risk reporting for the General Manager and the Chief Risk Officer's Report, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Monitor and Report Key Risk Indicators: Support the monitoring and reporting of key risk indicators and metrics, providing insights to inform business decisions.
- Provide Education and Training: Develop and deliver education and training programs on risk management across the Group, promoting a positive risk culture.
- Identify Emerging Risks: Report on emerging risks through internal forums and external changes, ensuring the business is aware of potential risks.
- Implement Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives for effective risk reviews, ensuring the risk management framework is robust and effective.
- Promote a Positive Risk Culture: Promote a positive risk culture and support business owners on risk performance, ensuring the business is aware of its risk profile.
- Subject Matter Expert: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in operational risk, enterprise risk, and financial/non-financial risk frameworks, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, or GRC, or with a background in audit, accountancy, risk, or actuarial fields.
- Engagement Skills: Strong engagement skills and ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs and senior leaders across the Group.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to build effective relationships with senior managers and stakeholders.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the general insurance industry is highly regarded.
- Risk Management Systems: Familiarity with risk management systems (Ideally Archer).
