Intellectual Property Professional

We are seeking a skilled Intellectual Property Professional to join our team. As a key member of our IP practice, you will advise on a wide range of intellectual property matters.

You will work directly with clients across various sectors, providing strategic advice on commercialisation, licensing, assignments, supply and distribution agreements, as well as drafting and negotiating IP-related agreements in M&A and commercial transactions.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' post-admission experience, preferably with IP as a primary focus. You will possess strong drafting and technical skills, a proactive and commercial mindset, and the ability to build rapport with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on intellectual property commercialisation, licensing, assignments, and supply and distribution agreements
  • Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements in mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions
  • Identify, protect, and enforce copyright, trade mark, design, patent, and PBR rights
  • Manage Australian trade mark applications and oppositions, and advise on global brand protection strategies
  • Work closely with clients to develop and implement IP protection strategies

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' post-admission experience, preferably with IP as a primary focus
  • Strong drafting and technical skills with attention to detail
  • A proactive and commercial mindset with the ability to build rapport with clients
  • Experience dealing with IP Australia and/or international IP offices
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
