Patent Attorney Role

We are seeking a registered patent attorney with expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Australia and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications for local and international clients,
  • Preparing high quality written and verbal IP advice in a timely manner,
  • Managing intellectual property portfolios tailored to client needs,
  • Developing and executing IP strategies, preparing and delivering IP related articles and presentations internally and externally,
  • Participating in networking events, seminars, and business development activities.
About You:
  • A registered Australian or New Zealand patent attorney who is degree qualified (or higher) in electrical or electronics engineering, computer systems engineering, mechatronics engineering, information and communications technology (ICT), physics, quantum computing, software engineering or a related technical field.
  • 1-3 years post-registration experience as a Patent Attorney,
  • Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the above technical fields,
  • Experience managing IP portfolios and developing IP strategies for Australian and international applicants,
  • A client-focused approach and ability to build strong professional relationships,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities,
  • Exceptional technical knowledge,
  • An eye for detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Advanced computer skills and database researching skills,
  • Highly organised and responsible with experience prioritising and working to deadlines,
  • A positive attitude with a collaborative and innovative mindset.
