Business Operations Specialist for Pacific Markets

The role of Business Operations Specialist for Pacific Markets involves providing high-level executive secretarial, administrative and operational project support to senior executives and teams.

This position is based in Brisbane and will involve working with a team that values professional growth and development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the delivery of business development support by undertaking high-level research, analysis, and project work for the Pacific markets team.
  • Providing event support for senior executives' activities across the Pacific region.
  • Maintaining and supporting the development of business cases for the Pacific markets team in collaboration with industry teams.
  • Supporting senior executives with high-level content and structure of speeches and presentations in both PowerPoint and talking point formats.

Additionally, this role will involve delivering business administration support by providing high-level confidential administrative and operational support to senior executives, including:

  • Analysis, coordination, and preparation of departmental, ministerial, parliamentary, and cabinet briefings, agendas, reports, submissions, and presentations/events.
  • Diary and travel management; monthly budget monitoring and analysis, processing expenditure approvals, invoices, and accounts; reconciling monthly corporate card expenses.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current matters relevant to the Pacific region and its impact on trade, investment, and international education engagement with Queensland.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to provide high-quality project support and deliver business development outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior executives and teams.
