Senior Project Engineer

Lead major telecomms projects with real impact and drive results-oriented engineering delivery.

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of telecommunications infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering resources and internal/external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Manage engineering schedules, risks, priorities, and deliverables to meet client expectations.
  • Represent engineering in project meetings with clients and PMs, providing expert technical advice.
  • Lead design reviews and Safety in Design processes, guaranteeing compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare and review scopes for subcontractors and suppliers, fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Support on-site activities including installation and commissioning, ensuring seamless project handovers.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement initiatives, driving a culture of excellence.

The Ideal Candidate

A successful Senior Project Engineer should possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related)
  • 8+ years' experience in engineering delivery within EPC or related environments
  • Background in telecommunications, mining, oil & gas, or defence sectors
  • Skilled in engineering project controls, change management, and stakeholder engagement
  • Proven ability to interpret technical scopes and deliver to schedule
  • Strong knowledge of design, commissioning, and construction processes
  • Confident managing subcontractors and technical queries
  • Chartered or eligible for MIEAust/CPEng (highly regarded)
