Job Overview

The role of Liaison Officer is designed to support and advise on health pathways aimed at improving the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This position plays a vital part in ensuring that these communities are connected to services in a respectful and appropriate manner, tailored to their specific health needs.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain networks with stakeholders, including local Elders, while staying up-to-date on current health issues, policy, and programs.

In line with Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support and advice on health pathways aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Develop and maintain networks with stakeholders, including local Elders, to ensure seamless connections to services.
Qualifications
  • Be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community, as outlined in Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
