Job DescriptionThis is a unique opportunity for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to make a genuine impact in Aboriginal health and cancer care outcomes. With a focus on community-based services, the successful candidate will promote and embed cancer screening resources across community programs.
- Promote and embed cancer screening resources across community programs.
- Support clients and families in navigating cancer services and palliative care pathways.
- Coordinate planning with hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services to ensure culturally safe referrals.
- Deliver health promotion activities, yarning circles, and community education.
- Assist in developing quality improvement processes and culturally appropriate learning materials.
The role offers a supportive, community-led work environment, ongoing training & professional development opportunities, and accommodation provided. The successful candidate will have experience in community health, chronic disease, oncology, or related programs and be able to work independently and in a team. They will also possess cultural awareness working rural and remote and with Aboriginal and Torres Island communities.
Required Skills and QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in community health, chronic disease, oncology, or related programs.
- Current QLD Driver's Licence, First Aid/CPR, Blue Card, and National Police Check.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
