Practice and Development Nurse - Specialist

The Practice Development Nurse – Specialist is responsible for supporting the professional development of nursing staff across clinical settings.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate targeted education programs and clinical support for nurses through graduate, postgraduate, and specialty practice pathways.
  • Collaborate closely with NUMs, E&L Coordinators, Managers, educators, preceptors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent high-quality learning experiences in allocated clinical areas.
  • Contribute to developing education resources, policy updates, and best-practice initiatives that integrate feedback, research, and digital tools to enhance program outcomes.
  • Promote reflective practice, maintain clinical competence, and embody the values of compassion, integrity, justice, and excellence.

We are seeking an experienced nurse with a passion for education and development to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing and education, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Requirements:

  • Nursing Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
  • Degree in General Nursing meeting the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery board of Australia.
  • Postgraduate Qualifications in relevant nursing speciality, preferably a Masters in Advanced Nursing (or working towards).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Education, Clinical Supervision or similar (or working towards)
  • At least 5 years nursing experience.
  • Experience in clinical teaching, clinical supervision, or implementation and facilitation of educational programs.
  • High-level learning and development facilitation experience and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines.
  • Competent computer skills including PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
