Compliance Officer Role

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Compliance Officer to join our Enterprise, Risk, and Assurance team. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and industry codes.

The successful candidate will be proactive, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to expertly manage stakeholders while juggling priorities. Strong communication skills are essential, particularly when working with key stakeholders.

This position can be based at either our headquarters or a regional office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and enhancing the compliance management framework
  • Ensuring business awareness and management of compliance obligations
  • Providing timely and accurate compliance advice
  • Managing incidents in line with the Breach Reporting Standard
  • Supporting risk management activities and assurance oversight
  • Collaborating with Legal and business units on compliance strategies
  • Preparing compliance reports for internal stakeholders and governance committees
  • Driving a compliance-focused culture and staying informed on emerging risks

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a compliance role within Financial Services (5+ years)
  • Familiarity with Australian legislation and regulatory standards
  • Skilled in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) principles, compliance frameworks, and methodologies
  • Experience in the financial services or insurance industry
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Effective time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
