Senior Workshop Manager
Job SummaryThe Senior Workshop Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Brisbane workshop and oversight of three other locations on the eastern seaboard. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Key Responsibilities- Support interstate workshop managers in relation to their day-to-day workshop matters, including upcoming jobs and planning, resources, and HR matters.
- Provide a direct, central point of support for national workshop teams.
- Manage the day-to-day running, work planning, and scheduling for the Brisbane workshop, including direct technical requirements.
- Liaise with customers to understand their needs and deliver required levels of workshop support.
- Optimize workflow and service delivery while ensuring high levels of workmanship and quality control.
- Manage workshop-staff related matters, including training, development, and disciplinary action if required.
- Dynamically prioritize work and resources as work requirements and situations develop.
- Work with upper management on job development, strategies, and future planning.
- Trade-qualified mechanic with some type of heavy equipment experience, crushing and processing equipment experience highly regarded.
- Excellent people-management skills, covering all aspects of managing staff effectively.
- The ability to motivate and bring the best out of people, including their development.
- Well-developed customer service skills in a workshop management environment.
- Well-developed organizational skills and computer skills.
- The ability to think on your feet with a good problem-solving ability.
- The ability to work under pressure and in dynamic situations.
- Australian citizen or PR with a driving license.
