Job Description

The Rehabilitation Consultant plays a vital role in a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals. This position involves working closely with clients to help them regain independence and achieve their goals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Occupational Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments, including activities of daily living, home, worksite, functional, ergonomic, and equipment evaluations.
  • Rehabilitation Planning: Develop and implement effective rehabilitation plans based on thorough assessments relevant to the discipline.
  • Intervention Programs: Design and implement intervention programs using occupation to improve functional performance, independence, and work capacity.
  • Barrier Identification: Identify barriers and design, implement, and monitor programs that support individuals to achieve maximum work participation.
  • Client Empowerment: Empower clients to achieve wellness and recovery goals by understanding various healthcare and rehabilitation funding schemes.
Requirements:
  • A Tertiary Qualification: In Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, or Physiotherapy is essential.
  • Registration: Registration with either AHPRA or ESSA is mandatory.
  • A genuine desire to make a measurable impact in people's lives is crucial.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to build trust with clients and stakeholders is vital.
  • A Customer-Focused Mindset: With a focus on quality outcomes is necessary.
