Job Opportunity: Data Management Expert

We are seeking an experienced professional to support current and upcoming Defence programs across the capability lifecycle in Brisbane or Canberra.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline and 3–5 years' experience in data management within Defence or a highly regulated technical environment.

The key responsibilities of the role include developing, implementing, and maintaining effective data management frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with Defence and Commonwealth standards.

Core Objectives:

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and traceability across technical, engineering, and logistics domains
  • Manage structured and unstructured data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise data governance and utilisation

The successful candidate will also support the establishment and maintenance of secure, accessible data repositories with appropriate metadata, version control, and access protocols, contribute to the development of Data Management Plans, and engage with Defence stakeholders and contractors to uphold consistency and quality of data and documentation.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 3–5 years' experience in data management within Defence or a highly regulated technical environment
